Hi, I’m Carlos Haney, a student at the University of melbourne studying abroad who loves exploring new places and documenting what I experience along the way. For me travel is not just about seeing famous landmarks and going far from home, it’s about experiencing places with an open mind and learning from the people and cultures around me.

One quote that really captures what travel means to me comes from Pico Iyer, “Yet for me the first great joy of traveling is simply the luxury of leaving all my beliefs and certainties at home, and seeing everything I thought I knew in a different light, and from a crooked angle.” This quote embodies travel in a nutshell. Traveling pushes you out of your comfort zone and challenges the biases you have about a place before you visit it. The beauty of travel is about seeing the world from a new perspective and learning things you never expected.

My travel blog focuses on New Zealand, a place that interests me because of its incredible natural landscapes and blend of Māori heritage and modern society. Through this blog, I hope to explore what makes New Zealand special from its mountains to the everyday experiences that make traveling there memorable. The goal of this blog is to share my perspective as a traveler and highlight what makes exploring a place meaningful.
